When it comes to costs, Cambodia is one of the poorest nations in the world, and, as you would expect, things are also extremely cheap, although the level of poverty means that scams and inflated prices are widespread.

The official currency of Cambodia is the riel (KHR) although US dollars are used pretty much everywhere. Most shops will actually have the prices marked in dollars and even places like local markets will accept them, although they will give you change in riel.
ATMs are widely available in the bigger cities and Canadia Bank has a no-fee withdrawal policy that will save you money, as other ATMs can charge up to $4 per transaction. Be smart on how to use your credit card and if you do use it for an ATM, take out as much as possible in one go to make up for it.
